Cold Process Coconut Milk Soap Making Class (Hands-On)
Learn how to make soap from scratch – the wonderful, natural soaps you see at specialty stores and farmer’s markets. We use only vegetable oils, coconut milk, essential oils, natural colorants, and lye to make beautiful, creamy lathering soaps that are actually good for your skin. A really fun craft to learn that can easily be a passion.
Class will include of a brief history of soap, safety, saponification and processes. This will be followed by a demonstration of the process and then it is HANDS ON. You will be making a batch of soap!
You will leave class with your soap in a disposable mold and let cure it at home. It is best to cure cold process soap for 4-6 weeks.
Session lasts 2 ½ -3 hours; soap equipment and supplies are provided.
Class size: 4-6 students age 16 and up
What to bring: your own mask.
We have safety equipment (apron, gloves, & eyewear) available to purchase or bring your own.
