About Blythe

Blythe Zemel has been an active artist since she could walk. She attended the High School for the Visual and Performing Arts in Houston, TX and went on to get her B.A. in Art History and Studio Art. She went through her Texas teaching certification program at ACE for Art Education in EC-12th. She has been teaching art for 20 years.

As an active studio artist, she has done everything from running an internationally bought clothing line to painting murals to car hoods to restoration work, but she feels her real talent as an artist is with a camera in hand. Her work has been featured in numerous magazines and newspapers, on National Geographic’s Editor Picks, published in their story on Macro, and she is currently working on a documentary with an accomplished Executive Producer in Los Angeles.

Currently, she runs a mobile/remote arts program locally north of San Antonio in Boerne, TX. Her program travels to various locations bringing in art supplies and curriculum to students in homeschool co-ops, private schools, and in other community space settings.

She specializes in mentoring upcoming artists, art teachers, and working with special populations that require a healing touch and approach.

She runs a studio and shop space upstairs at the Sanctuary for the Vintage Soul called Two Lane Trading where she features artisan made goods, Out of the Box Project Boxes, a “Learning Lab”, and other fun goods.
